Abstract

The manufacturing industry has undergone major changes due to the increasing demand for efficiency and responsiveness, especially in the field of supply chain management. Two prominent strategies that have emerged to address these challenges are lean and agile supply chain strategies. This literature provides an in-depth analysis of the comparative aspects of these strategies within the manufacturing industry. By examining the existing evidence, this review seeks to identify the key characteristics, benefits and challenges associated with implementing lean and agile strategies. Additionally, it explores the factors that influence the selection and adoption of these strategies in different manufacturing contexts. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the applicability and effectiveness of these strategies, especially in the manufacturing sector.
