Abstract
This study aimed at evaluating the implementation and benefits of engineering knowledge management of construction projects in Al Jowf province Saudi Arabia and its effect of performance. In order to achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the analytical descriptive approach, and the questionnaire was used as the study instrument for data collection. The study population consisted of all the employees working in the area municipality with a total of (1000) male and female employees, while the study sample was randomly selected and consisted of (238) male and female employees. The study used the methods of descriptive statistics and t-test.
The results showed that the degree of implementing and the benefits of the domains of managing engineering knowledge in construction projects in the province of Al Jowf was medium. The results revealed that there is a statistically significant effect for the domains of engineering knowledge management (developing knowledge, storing knowledge, knowledge diagnosis, knowledge acquisition, distributing knowledge, implementing knowledge) on the performance of engineering projects in Al Jowf province.
In the light of the results, the study recommended the necessity of paying more attention to knowledge management in the region's municipality, where databases should be developed and updated regularly, specialist in the domain of knowledge management should be consulted, and employees should be urged to participate with their knowledge and experiences and exchange them with others in order to promote the information and expertise of other employees.
