The relationship between built environment, physical activity and people health and wellbeing has been discussed by many researchers in the Western countries. This research set out to fill a gap in physical activity participation in public open space in the context of a non-Western country. This study contributes to our understanding of the role of proximity, size and quality of public open space in encouraging or hindering outdoor physical activity participation. It is worth noting that this research was conducted during the pandemic of coronavirus COVID-19 which limited the researcher's options of data collection.
