Abstract

The purpose of titled "A Human Rights Impact Assessment of How WTO Rules on Patents Under the TRIPS Agreement Impacts on Access to Medicines in LDCs" is to analyze and assess the impact of the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules on patents, specifically under the TRIPS Agreement, on access to medicines in Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The document aims to contribute to the advancement of human rights and trade governance by understanding how the TRIPS Agreement affects the ability of LDCs to realize the right to health. It also aims to bridge the research gap by providing a systematic study of this issue from the perspective of LDCs as a whole.
