Exploring the organisational–psychological dimension of quality culture in Saudi higher education: the perspectives of faculty members at one Saudi university.

Abstract

The present study utilised a qualitative methodology by conducting interviews to investigate the understandings and practices of faculty members at a university in Saudi Arabia on the organisational–psychological dimension of quality culture. The research produced multiple findings, with the most significant being the absence of a consensus among participants on the definition of quality in the higher education setting. Furthermore, participants' perception of quality is influenced by various factors. Second, the influence of leadership and effective communication in fostering a culture of quality in institutions of higher education. Additionally, diversity in participants' comprehension of commitment and responsibility, which will manifest itself in their work style. The interviews also revealed some of the obstacles that must be overcome in order to improve and cultivate a culture of quality in higher education, as well as some of the factors that may lead to doing so.
