Abstract

Background: The primary method of identifying COVID-19 is RT-PCR for a respiratory specimen. A number of contemporary papers have proposed that chest CT can be used for the diagnosis of COVID-19. However, the use of CT as a diagnostic tool remains controversial. This structured literature review explores the role of CT scans as a tool for diagnosing COVID-19 patients, in comparison with the RT-PCR assay.
