Literature review on ultrasound and their applications

Abstract

One of the most promising fieldsin the development of applied science is that of ultrasound. It has widespread application and its advancement is likely to present many advantages that may not be accessible through other means of wave science. This literature reviews the types of ultrasound available together with their invaluable application based on ultrasound wave principles. Among the applications chosen that serve the consumer directly, are ultrasound imaging, smart parking systems, locating defects in building material and structures, the oil industry, medicine and communication technology. The common feature of ultrasound in medicine is as an image generation system, while smart parking is a sensor sensitive procedure. Ultrasound is an innovative process for finding defects in building material, where its application allows determination of the exact location of faults with high accuracy. The advantageous employment of ultrasound in the oil industry is to achieve higher output with low energy consumption and minimal environmental damage. In communication technology, where the application has achieved a frequency of 33.7 GHz, a whole new field of opportunity is opened up in this discipline.
