Abstract
aim of this research is to evaluate the role of Twitter and Instagram in English language learning among adult Saudi students in the UK. This research has provided a significant insight about social media platforms of Twitter and Instagram which are readily used by Saudi students in the UK in learning different English language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. A quantitative research methodology is used in this research and data is collected using online surveys, questionnaires. These surveys were sent to 100 students who are current student in various UK universities, and 70 students returned back fully completed surveys, so response rate is 70%. Data is analysed using graphical representation. Results of this study have confirmed that social media platforms mainly Instagram, Twitter and YouTube are readily used by Saudi students. However, Instagram is used by majority of students and use of Twitter comes second, followed by the use of YouTube. Results also confirm that the use of Instagram & Twitter help students in improving their reading, writing listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar skills. Thus, it is suggested that Instagram & Twitter should be readily used by teachers in classroom in teaching English language
