Abstract
Crowd Management in Hajj to Improve the Health and Safety of Pilgrims
This research will solve the question: What solutions can be adopted to improve the health and safety of pilgrims during Hajj? Moreover, the aims of this research include discussing the challenges faced due to overcrowding during Hajj, analyzing already employed solutions to control challenges caused by overcrowding and exploring new solutions to control challenges caused by overcrowding. By conducting an extensive literature review, solutions previously proposed by various researchers, as well as already implemented solutions, have been noted. There are various implications that arise due to the overcrowded nature of Hajj, including the spread of diseases, stampede disasters, communication barriers and the presence of illegal unregistered pilgrims. In an attempt to mitigate these implications to ensure the health and safety of pilgrims, solutions may be applied, such as increasing the awareness and education levels of pilgrims, connecting Hajj visas and permits with health history, subsidizing Hajj costs for underprivileged pilgrims, utilizing artificial intelligence facial recognition to fight illegal pilgrims, and preparing schedules and providing stones for the stone throwing ritual.
