dc.description.abstract | Novel 4-thiazoline-N-octyl-1,8-naphthalimide was synthesised, starting with the preparation of starting material via the reaction of 4-bromo-naphthalic anhydride with aliphatic amine to form 4-bromo-N-octyl-1,8-naphthalimide. It was treated with CuCN to form the starting material of the 4-carbonitrile-N-octyl-1,8-naphthalimide , followed by a condensation reaction with cysteamine and ethanol under metal-free conditions to form the target product with a 51% yield. All compounds were identified and characterised by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, resulting in the successful formation of the thiazoline ring in the 4- position of naphthalimide | |
