Abstract The study aimed to identify the role of leadership styles in achieving employee satisfaction in public hospitals in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah. It also sought to determine the dominant leadership style in these hospitals, the most effective style, and whether there were statistically significant differences among the study variables. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical method as well as the inductive-deductive approach. It was conducted on a sample of 369 employees from public hospitals in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah. The study reached several key findings, the most important of which was that employees in public hospitals reported a moderate degree of autocratic leadership style. This was mainly reflected in managers’ focus on maintaining routine work operations within the hospitals and prioritizing the needs of employees. Additionally, the study found statistically significant differences between males and females in the autocratic leadership style at a significance level of (0.05), indicating that gender influences responses related to this specific leadership dimension only, and not the other leadership styles. Keywords: Leadership styles – Employee satisfaction – Public hospitals in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.
