Abstract
This research explores the Transmission-Constrained Unit Commitment (TC-UC) problem in modern power systems, with a focus on optimizing generator scheduling while addressing operational and transmission constraints. By employing Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) techniques, the study aims to minimize generation costs and evaluate the impacts of transmission constraints and fluctuating electricity demands on system reliability. Simulations conducted with demand variations highlight the need for adaptable optimization strategies in integrating renewable energy sources, ensuring efficient and cost-effective power system operations.
Description
This study focuses on Transmission-Constrained Unit Commitment (TC-UC) in modern power systems, emphasizing the integration of renewable energy resources. It addresses the challenges of coordinating power generation facilities while managing operational and transmission constraints. The research employs Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) to optimize generator scheduling and reduce costs, considering varying demand levels and the impact of renewable energy variability. The findings highlight the importance of efficient generator scheduling and optimization techniques in large-scale power systems.
