Abstract
This dissertation explores the balance between sustainability and efficiency in supply chain management for sports events in Saudi Arabia. It aims to address the formats in which environmental considerations and operational performance are integrated and evaluated within this context. Through utilising semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, the research investigates current practices, effectiveness and challenges faced in managing the supply chains of sports events. Thematic analysis is employed to interpret the qualitative data and it does highlight themes such as environmental strategies, logistical challenges and the efficacy of sustainable practices. The findings reveal a significant focus on sustainability though gaps in practice and efficiency persist. Recommendations include enhancing sustainable practices, improving operational efficiency, and encouraging higher level of stakeholders’ engagement. This study contributes to understanding the dynamic interaction between sustainability and efficiency in the unique socio-economic environment of Saudi Arabian sports event management.
