dc.description.abstractthis dissertation aims to use persuasive technology in smoking cessation by developing and evaluating a mobile app called the No-Smoke. Using compelling technologies such as social support, tracking, planning, motivation and other features, the app aims to enhance user engagement and facilitate the journey of quitting smoking. The effectiveness of these features has been validated through automated testing and user feedback, demonstrating the potential to enhance awareness, motivation, and behavior modification [8]. However, limitations, such as the small user base and uncertainty of long-term efficacy, have been identified due to the inherent complexities of smoking cessation. Despite these challenges, Based on users' experience and feedback , No-Smoke represents a promising step forward in the use of masked technology for public health interventions. Future research is proposed to include a comprehensive long-term study with a larger and more diverse user base, personalization improvements, and integration of user behavior ML algorithms.
