A framework to deliver E-learning in Higher Education Institution’s in Saudi Arabia
Abstract
The background examined the context of KSA as being deeply traditional with social and religious concepts influencing the growth and efficacy of E-learning in higher education, in particular change from traditional learning to E-learning as KSA grows to encompass more educational needs. Undoubtedly, the integration of ICT in teaching is improving the learning processes, outside and inside the classroom, and has fostered E-learning practices. E-learning is one of the ways that enhance the accessibility to many students, thereby overcoming the challenges that may prevent some from accessing a university qualification.
The purpose of this study was to identify the challenges of E-learning adoption and facilitation at Taibah University in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it is used on-campus to facilitate blended learning by integrating traditional learning with E-learning elements. Ultimately the purpose of this study was to create a framework for E-learning planning, adoption, and facilitation that would overcome the most significant challenges and allow for improved integration of E-learning on-campus in congruence with traditional learning.
