The Association between Liver Cirrhosis and Periodontitis

Abstract

A higher prevalence of periodontitis could be found in patients with advanced liver cirrhosis. Higher systemic inflammation, lower liver, and kidney functions as well as increased tendency of bleeding and vascular complications could be shared between periodontitis and liver cirrhosis.
