Abstract
This study explores the influences of implementing M-learning on teaching operation in high schools in Saudi Arabia by examining teachers’ (working in high schools in Saudi Arabia) perceptions about the needs of implementing M-learning as well as the factors influencing such implementation. This study aims to explore the current M-learning applications in Saudi Arabia’s high schools, the factors influencing the implementation of M-learning in classrooms and gauge the need to change the M-learning policy in Saudi high schools. A mixed method approach was considered most appropriate for this study and was selected to triangulate and validate the data gathered. Research data was gathered using an online survey which included closed and open-ended questions. A total of 69 high school teachers based in Saudi Arabia formed the sample. The findings of this study provide evidence that implementing M-learning in high schools in Saudi Arabia can facilitate teaching operation, make the learning environment enjoyable and beneficial, help students to quickly and easy engage with subject martials, enhance students’ collaborative skills and prepare them to the work environment. The findings also indicate to some factors which may explain the limitations of successful implementing M-learning in Saudi high schools.
