Abstract

During decades, women have been suffering from discrimination and inequality in Saudi society, which was affected by many cultural and social factors. However, the issue of women empowerment and Emphasizing the importance of women contribution in growth and development are still of concern to politicians and the Saudi government. This paper aims to introduce the Saudi women situation and the challenges they face. It studies the role of the Saudi vision 2030 and the possibilities of National Transformation Programme in achieving women economic and educational empowerment. Qualitative analysis was done based on secondary data obtained from an annual reports and governmental statistics. It concluded that Vision 2030 achieves its main goal of transforming the Saudi economy to a knowledge-based economy through the inclusion of women in the work force and in the social and economic life of Saudi Arabia. The result showed that the educational initiatives launched in the past few years have a great influence to increase the number of student's enrollment and graduated women in new specialties that required by the new Saudi labor market and hence increase possibilities to empower Saudi women. The study recommends investment in further education for females by providing more opportunities for females to receive degrees from local and international Institutions. Focusing on that directly affects decision making and strategic planning to cope with Saudi Arabia 2030 Vision.
