In recent years the concept of blockchain has emerged and expanded after the advent of Bitcoin as cryptocurrency and spread to provide a unique, safe and reliable model. This, in turn has been reflected among researchers and developers, resulting in many frameworks such as Ethereum and hyperledger fabric. Where each framework distinguished by the other in advantages. However, they share to perform a decentralized system that based on agreement between nodes through a use of consensus protocol. Nevertheless, each framework uses different consensus protocol. As result, the need for apply interoperability and scalability solutions, where many researchers and developers are currently working to contribute to finding suitable solutions to interconnect different blockchain networks. This dissertation focuses on finding an appropriate design for smart homes to provide interoperability and scalability to respond to the multiple functions needed to perform in smart homes.
