The report used the bacteriophage ϕX174 virus as a model system to explore how three variables (number of mutations, burst size and population size) affect the extinction of the organism. this report aims to determine the rate of mutation that leads to the disappearance of a virus population using a model of ϕX174 while changing certain inputs in order to explore underlying fitness.
