Abstract

Intubating patients with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as an emergency precaution to prevent hypoxia has long been considered standard practice in the United Kingdom. However, the risks and evidence base for this measure are still not fully understood. This review aimed to use current literature in the field to determine whether prehospital intubation is associated with poorer outcomes in adults who have experienced a TBI.
