Abstract

Wasm is a 2D animated short film that explores the impact of morally complex characters in narratives on audience engagement and ethical decision-making. The story is about a young woman with four unexplained marks on her forehead traversing a post-apocalyptic world alone. When she comes across a vulnerable young child, she makes the humane decision to help him, thus beginning their journey together. However, as their resources are limited, and the boy becomes a burden, the woman faces a difficult choice. She must choose between prioritizing her survival and leaving the boy behind or staying by his side despite the risks.
