The Impact of Age on Lexical Attrition: Evidence from Bilingual Saudi-English Returnees

Abstract

The present study attempts to investigate the lexical competence among bilingual Saudi-English returnees who have lost regular contact of l2 English upon returning to their homeland saudi arabia after living in the us for an extended period of time the research aims to investigate whether there is a critical age span of attrition by considering the participants age of return numerous methods of lexical attrition will be examined and extralinguistic variables that may affect lexical attrition will be reviewed.
