Investigating the Impact of the Prehospital Administration of Tranexamic Acid on Traumatic Brain Injury Patients, a systematic review
Abstract
Background
ABSTRACT
Tranexamic acid (TXA) is an Antifibrinolytic agent and time-dependent drug that increases positive outcomes when used within the first three hours after an injury. TXA is administered to traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients in a pre-hospital setting to stabilise and prevent intracranial haemorrhage. A systematic review was conducted to investigate the impacts of pre-hospital administration of TXA in TBI patients.
