Should arbitral awards be subject to appeal on merit before arbitration institutions in international commercial arbitration?

Abstract

There is a need for appeal mechanism in commercial arbitration regarding the merit of awards. However, there is a counterargument against this idea because such mechanism does not fit with the principles of arbitration such as the finality.
