Abstract

This research seeks to fill the gap in research about the impact of CALL-mediated TBLT on maintaining motivation on EFL resit students in the virtual classroom. Specifically, it contributes to the TBLT domain by eliciting the instructors and students’ perception on the use of TR and CALL as tools that might increase learners’ motivation in such a task-based curriculum that reflects real-life situations using a qualitative approach. Overall, the results indicate that both teachers and learners considered TR and CALL as key aspects in developing L2 performance and maintaining EFL learners’ motivation. However, sceptical attitude and conflicting views between teachers and learners appeared in discussion of whether TMTBLT summer course is motivating for resit learners.
