Abstract

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) was the fourth country to authorise the emergency use of vaccines following World Health Organization (WHO) prioritisation criteria in the wake of the rapid global spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The Ministry of Health (MoH) introduced a mobile application, ANAT, for healthcare professionals (HCPs) to register and make appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. Therefore, given the importance of vaccination to public health strategy in the KSA, it is necessary to measure HCPs’ level of satisfaction with the ANAT application to best encourage its continued use and ensure its objectives are met. This study adopted a descriptive, cross-sectional design to measured HCPs’ satisfaction using an online questionnaire with 405 participants recruited through random sampling. The findings indicate that the participants were generally satisfied with the ANAT application, with more than 80% of the participants indicating satisfaction with the application’s design (ease of use, time consumed on registration and booking of vaccines, etc.). However, the results revealed dissatisfaction with the information quality, with 40% considering it inadequate. This should be improved by adding the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccines, contact information for users after booking a vaccine, and information about the tracking of vaccines and booster doses.
