Abstract

The study examines the challenges, preparations, strategies and impacts on the aeroplanes' spare parts market due to the Covid-19 pandemic with a focus on Saudi Arabia. Comparisons with existing literature illuminated both global trends and region- specific complexities. Data collected from Questionnaire disrupted to 63 respondents and such data highlighted key challenges related to transportation disruptions, decreased demand, financial constraints and disrupted supply chains. The results showed that many organisations were unprepared for the abrupt pandemic impacts which caused operational and service delivery disruptions. To navigate these challenges, an accelerated adoption of digital technologies and an emphasis on robust supplier relationships were underlined. The study further explored the potential of integrating the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model with the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model for enhanced sustainability and operational excellence. The research underscores the importance of adaptability, future preparedness and continued investigation into the intricate interplay of global and regional dynamics in the aviation sector during the times of crisis.
