THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE ROLE OF MICRORNAS DURING SKIN DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Results showed that expressions of miR-148a and K1 are enhanced in keratinocytes in vitro in response to calcium levels. MiRNA-148a can help in therapy to treat various diseases concerning the skin and appendages while also functioning as a prognostic and predictive marker for diagnosing skin cancer. It was not possible to determine upregulated miRNA-148a’s target genes in keratinocyte differentiation, and thus, further studies must be conducted to identify how miRNA- 148 affects keratinocyte differentiation.
