Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the communicable disease surveillance system at Prince Mohamed Ben Naser Hospital in Jazan. Method: A sectional study design was adopted, engaging 140 healthcare providers who worked at Prince Mohamed Ben Naser Hospital in Jazan through a convenience sampling technique. The researchers used four tools: A self-administered questionnaire to assess healthcare providers’ demographic and occupational characteristics, knowledge, self-reported practice, and assessment of strengths and weaknesses of surveillance systems at the studied hospital. Results: Findings revealed poor knowledge and a satisfactory level of practice regarding communicable disease surveillance systems among healthcare providers working at the studied hospital.
