A Commentary on the Translation of ''Happy Mum Happy Baby'' by Giovanna Fletcher from English to Arabic Following a Combined Strategy of Foreignization and Domestication Approaches
Abstract
In the light of globalization, the influence of successful figures in society is not limited to those who share the same languages, religions and beliefs. Therefore, the translation of the autobiography genre and its sub-genre of memoirs has flourished to meet the readers' needs in reading autobiographies and memoirs of successful figures around the world. An extract has been selected from Happy Mum Happy Baby book and translated from English to Arabic with the use of Venuti's foreignization and Domestication approaches to guide the translation process. Furthermore, it is useful to shed light on this type of text and the translation problems, such as Culture-bound items, proper nouns and taboo words, that may raise from the translator's point of view to find out the possible strategies to solve such these issues.
