Abstract

The successful implementation of operations management and supply chains is heavily dependent on how we understand human behaviour. Behavioural operations management (BOM) involves taking into consideration human behaviour in systems aimed at improving operational performance. Operational performance such as productivity, efficiency and flexibility in supply chain systems cannot be explained by models based on rationality alone. There is a need to take cognitive factors into account.
