The purpose of this paper is to empirically assess the impact of the Financial Sector Development Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In order to measure the degree of financial development, the study used the Financial Development Index (FDI) to measure the financial development during the period of 2010-2020. The results indicate that level of development of the financial sector was positively affected after the implementation of the national program. Also, the development of the financial sector began to be independent of dependence on oil prices.
