Abstract
Abstract
This project's main goal is to look into the uncertainties surrounding Lagrangian Particle Dispersion Models (LPDMs), which are used to infer greenhouse gas emissions from measurements of air concentration, especially methane.
The three main goals of the study are as follows:
1.Sensitivity Analysis: Evaluating the impact of changes in the number of virtual particles on the estimated emission estimates.
2. Comparative Simulation Analysis: Assessing the coherence of LPDM simulations through the comparison of various setups and parameter selections in order to comprehend how they affect the portrayal of air transport.
3. Methodological Refinement: Creating LPDM setup configurations that are optimised to increase the emission inference's robustness.
The research ultimately aims to determine the sensitivity of LPDM simulations to a range of user-defined inputs, which is crucial for improving the accuracy and reliability of top-down emissions assessments.
