Abstract

n recent times, the world has turned to the search for sources of energy production that are environmentally friendly and renewable, such as solar and wind energy, as sun energy is the mostly important sources of power, which called for the discovery of ways to obtain electrical energy from renewable energies that are environmentally friendly. With the invention of photovoltaic systems, converting solar energy into electrical energy is possible with the knowledge that these systems depend primarily on solar radiation (G or Rad), so shadow presents a serious challenge to these systems, especially when the cells that make up these series connected systems. The presence of shadow hinders the PV cells from receiving the required radiation to produce the electrical energy determined. There are buildings, clouds and trees which may cause shadow. The danger of the shadow on the PV cells is decreasing in the system’s output at the series connected cells, in addition to the shadow make the shaded cells temperature higher than unshaded cells, which leads to the shaded cells destruction.
