The Impact of Talent Development Practices on Employee Performance: Study case of Saudi Arabia
Abstract
Talent development practices (TDP) are difficult to implement, but it benefits institutions to adopt
them to maximise employee performance, loyalty and retention. This research highlights the
importance of implementing TDP in organisations to invest in high-potential employees as a
distinctive competitive advantage; not only will it improve employee performance by increasing
their knowledge and abilities, but also it helps to meet overall organisational goals' which is
performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between TDP and
employees' performance, loyalty and retention in public and private agencies in Saudi Arabia and
fill the gap in the literature about the impact of TDP on previously mentioned variables in Saudi
Arabia. This research answers the question: To what extent do TDP impact employee
performance? A quantitative method was used to test the relationship between the variables by
distributing an online questionnaire to employees working in Saudi Arabian organisations. The
results demonstrate a positive and strong association between TDP and employees' performance,
loyalty and retention, proving that the implementation of TDP is vital for these organisations.
Moreover, this paper will begin to bridge the gap in the literature, which lacks research on the
impact of TDP on these variables in the Saudi context
