Riyadh College of Technology Graduates Analysis and Visualization Tool

Abstract

This project is based on data analysis and visualisation from Riyadh College of Technology in Saudi Arabia. The derived data covers 18 years of graduates. Data for each year were exported from the original database as MS Excel file. The first encountered problems are integration of data, preparation of calculable information (Age of students, number of years in college, etc.) and translation to English of some fields. After this phase of data integration, which will be repeated each year to add new information to the database, data are ready for analysis. Developed software provided three types of reports with appropriate data filtering. These reports are developed to support the college administration decision-making process.

The Software was developed with Python 3.7+ programming language because this product is freeware. All used libraries are open source.

The types of visualisation used are data tables, histogram and bar charts. The data visualisation outputs will be created using the developed product user interface options from user customised queries. The product demonstrates that the interactions between data and widget tools create a richer and more interactively useful output for the end user.
