The Twitter social media platform is famous for breaking news, and it has become a primary news source for many in recent years. In addition, various news organisations use the platform to post news feeds (on their Twitter accounts). This dissertation applies discursive news values analysis (DNVA) combined with corpus tools to analyse news tweets. The paper aims to explore the news values established in news tweets by comparing the output of the two news organisations regarding their frequently constructed news values and various linguistic resources used to establish these values. The results reveal that news values are constructed in tweets posted by both outlets, with certain differences in the news values of Personalisation and Eliteness.
