The impact of using computers and media on the outputs of teaching and learning at Najran university
Abstract
There is no doubt that technology become an important part of people's lives in this age. It has become used in all fields and is used by different individuals.
In this dissertation, the researcher interest in studying the impact of computer and media on the teaching and learning outcomes of the university of Najran, which is one of the universities located in the south of Saudi Arabia. This university has recently promoted the use of computers and media in education. No studies have been done before in this subject at this university.
The research aims to study how the use of technology is useful for students and what are the risks of using it.
The positivist philosophy was applied in this research which can be obtained through observation. The researcher collects, interprets, and quantifies data. This method gives more accurate and objective results. The researcher used SPSS program for statistical analysis for ease of use and accuracy of data. The participants were 119 students and teachers from Najran university.
Through the results of the research it was found that education becomes more effective by combining it with technology. Students become more active and enjoyable. On the other hand, it was found that technology in education may distract students from the lesson.
It is therefore important to understand and apply certain methods during teaching to know how and when to use technology in education. In addition of that, What skills should be learned in order for an individual to use technology.
