The Sublime in Looped Electronic Beats During Live Shows

Abstract

Experiencing art can evoke in us profound aesthetic feelings. Attending live musical performances is one of its forms that I find heightens my imagination and deepens my emotions. More specifically, I noticed that there is a profound effect that listening to live music with looped electronic beats has on my emotional state, as I often feel like I am transcending my surroundings, in an almost ethereal way. I also noticed that there are several composers and listening of electronic music that have expressed similar personal responses to listening to musical pieces with looped beats. In their various comments and opinions about electronic music, they suggest that repetitive beats have a profound momentary mental and emotional effect on the listener of this form.
