Using a Physical Unclonable Function Based on Authentication for Internet of Things Devices
Abstract
The rapid spread of the Internet of Things (IoT) has increased the security problems in IoT devices. Therefore, the number of research increase to solve these security issues. The use of traditional security methods is not suitable for implementing it for the Internet of Things. The IoT devices connect many devices with limited resources and are present in exposed places. Thus, using the PUF for authentication between IoT devices promises to provide suitable security for IoT devices. This project will use the physically unclonable function based on authentication between two IoT devices. We will work on continuous mutual authentication that refreshes the CRP in each cycle. Therefore, it doesn’t need to collect a CRPs and save it into the database, and it will provide good security. The PUF will make the device unclonable, while the protocol will make the link between devices unclonable.
