In this paper, a developed model designed to assess the use of energy storage for electrical power distribution. The approach presents a simple algorithm to identify the battery charge/discharge logic to increase self-consumption, thereby providing cost savings to the end user. The Matlab platform has been used to analyse the input data using the CREST Demand Model using different load profile and energy management systems. The model enhances the level of understanding to power consumption in presence of Photovoltaic panels and provide a cost-effective tool using various household profiles based on time and occupant usage.
