BIM Adoption and implementation in developing countries: A case study of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The construction industry can compromise its design and structure with the involvement of BIM technology. The experience of employees, contractors, and other working staff is maintained by Building Information Modelling technology. Many problems in the construction industry are identified and solved with the help of Building Information Modelling technology. This technology can collect information about the prominent challenge of the construction industry. Building Information Modelling technology is treated as a phenomenological design approach to construction industry of Saudi Arabia. Building Information modelling technology s conducted with few rapid technological advancements this technological advancement can maintain the competitive disadvantage of construction industry. Competitive disadvantage is an obstacle of BIM implementation. Besides, the supply chain of construction industry is maintained with the help of BIM technology. Construction industry faced various problems with change management that can decrease the effectiveness of the construction industry. BIM technology can increase the productivity, efficiency, and infrastructure of the construction industry. Various disadvantages are present in Building Information Modelling technology. Lack of experienced employees can decrease the effectiveness of BIM implementation. Building Information Modelling technology is treated as an improvement tool and process. Various issues and problems are responsible for the success and failure adoption of Building Information Modelling technology. Functional and physical characteristics of construction industry is represented by BIM technology, which is included in this paper. Creativity, sustainability, reduced human resources, and cost and time are reduced by Building Information Modelling technology. Conflicts between the construction industry and foreign worker are maintained by Building Information Modelling technology, which is concluded in this paper.
