This project proposes a design for a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) for the millimetre (mm)-wave band with circular polarisation (CP), based on an array arrangement. Each array consists of two RDRAs, which act as a single MIMO antenna; this is then excited by a cross-slot aperture to generate CP. This work shows that the achieved impedance bandwidth is between 24 and 28 GHz, with a CP bandwidth of 2.38% between 24.9 and 25.5 GHz and reached gain 11 dBi in 28 GHz. The MIMO system’s parallel and opposite ports directions were also investigated in terms of impedance matching, axial ratios, gain, mutual coupling, envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), and diversity gain (DG), confirming that the proposed design provides a widerbandwidth, high-gain and CP antenna for 5G-and-beyond, Internet of things(IoT) and satellite systems.
