Concerns over privacy and security in IoT ( Baby monitoring devices)

Abstract

With the rapid tremendous growth of the internet of things (IoT) technologies, there will be significant privacy concerns for the IoT related products. As there will billions of devices connected closely over the internet. For example, The current mechanism of baby monitoring devices is not considering security and user privacy while manufacturing these devices. This issues raised much concern over the reliability and credential of the used devices. In case the security preaching occurs, the direct user will be severely affected in this case, the end-user is the children. This issue requires a unique method to revise the current privacy policy in the mentioned devices. The study examined the potential risks related to user privacy in baby monitoring devices by building a baby device and test it. Additionally, questionnaires and semi-constructed interviews were conducted to understand users concerns. This methodology also, the method was used to determine the user behaviour towards an object being monitored. Finally, The research attempt to contribute a better understanding of people concerns over the privacy in baby monitoring devices
