dc.description.abstract | Background: This study extended the technology acceptance model (TAM) via extends two constructs to TAM; perceived trust and perceived enjoyment. By investigating the impact of these factors on behavioural intentions toward M-government usage, this research also addressed a new area, which involves examining the impact of gender on the proposed determines. Aim: To examine the factors that impact behavioural intentions of using M-government services by Saudi citizens. Methods: The study followed a deductive quantitative approach. Multiple regression analysis was used to assess a sample of 562 M-government user by addressing the he relationship between behavioural intentions of using M-government services and the proposed constants, which were perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived trust and perceived enjoyment of M-government. To address the impact of gender the proposed TAM the sample was divided into one group of males and one group of females, then a multiple regression analysis was conducted. a questionnaire adopted from previous studies of the TAM was the main tool used to collect data. Results: All the proposed factors (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment and perceived trust) were found to be significant predictors of positive behavioural intentions toward M-government usage, regarding the impact of gender on M-government usage it was found that females place more emphasis on perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment, while males care more about M-government services’ security . Perceived ease of use is a significant factor for females, but it does not significantly influence male intentions to use M-government services. Conclusion: This study offers an improved understanding of the factors affecting M- government usage. Providing M-government services with user-friendly interfaces, functionality which guarantees that transactions can be completed, secure and entertaining systems would likely enhance M-government usage. However, further research is necessary to investigate the impacts of other factors, such as culture, on citizens’ intentions to use M- government services. | |
