Abstract: The perception of the Saudi EFL teacher towards humor is at question as this study aims to put the study of humor in language teaching on the map in the Saudi context. Further, it aims to know what the perception of Saudi EFL teachers are towards using humor as there hasn’t been any research in this matter in the Saudi Setting. In this study, a qualitative method was used to collect the data, semi-structure interviews, and the IPA analysis Smith et al (2009) method was used to make sense of the data of five female participants. Remarkably, the data showed that all of the five participants use humor in their teaching, and they encourage it. Notably, our findings indicate that the view of using humor in language teaching is viewed positively. These findings can be of great help to aid in facilitating teaching English to university level students.
