The Importance of Employee Participation to Effective Leadership Decision Making
Abstract
In the last few years, extensive scholarly attention has been directed towards participatory decision-making practices. This paper discusses the role of 'employee participation' in the drawing the focus towards the performance efficiency in the organization. The pre-requisites for the imperative of effective leadership decision making are also discussed. Employee participation is a crucial aspect of the organizational decision-making process, necessary for the effective implementation of innovative management practices. It plays an essential part in evaluating the levels of job satisfaction. Its proper execution can lead to increased employee satisfaction, job commitment, as well as organizational loyalty. Employee participation in decision-making raises the levels of employee motivation through fostering the feeling of having common goals in the employees. For this study, a systematic review of literature- approach is adopted to get an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the scholars in the said field. Various databases have been searched to shortlist the relevant scholarly journals and peer-reviewed articles. An analysis of the secondary resources and the relationship of the sources with the research topic is generated.
