    The first part of my thesis is devoted to the description of the axillary fossa (axilla) and structures, which are located inside this region. In the following sections I present a brief description of selected types of diseases with relatioship to the axilla, such as biopsy of axillary lymph nodes during breast cancer, axillary block of brachial plexus, or injuries of thoracodorsal, long thoracic or axillary nerves.
