Item Restricted Novel Framework for Integrating Blockchain Technology into Logistics and Supply Chain Services(Saudi Digital Library, 2025) Alkhaldi, Bidah; Al-Omary, AlauddinBottlenecks and operational inefficiencies in supply chains still persist despite technological innovations, due to structural and managerial issues. Blockchain integration presents a viable solution to these long-standing issues by offering tamper resistant ledgers, secure transactions and automation capabilities. This research takes a novel approach by designing a blockchain integration framework for supply chains, modifying the MOHBSChain framework to create the Supply-Blockchain framework. This framework is validated by developing a functional prototype using Hyperledger Fabric, by considering a port decongestion use case scenario. This research adopted an inductive approach, starting with informal observations of real-world port operations and a targeted literature review to identify patterns and challenges. The framework development was guided by the principles of transaction cost economics, resource-based view, and diffusion of innovations theories. MoSCoW method was used to prioritize features, while agile project management was adopted to ensure timely completion. Hyperledger Firefly and its connector framework were used as the middleware to facilitate blockchain integration, while chaincode developed using Go language was packaged and deployed to implement smart contracts. Raft orderer consensus mechanism was chosen to ensure resilience and fault tolerance. From a core functionality standpoint, the prototype allows initiation of smart contracts corresponding to functions such as creating and editing supply chain process-related documents, minimizing manual interventions and enhancing efficiency to reduce port congestion. It also offers live tracking of blockchain transactions, facilitating transparency and oversight, the permissioned nature of Hyperledger Fabric ensures security and robust access controls. Results of functional and performance testing conducted using Hyperledger Caliper, Prometheus, and Grafana, were satisfactory; this indicates the prototype's potential in alleviating bottlenecks in supply chains and quickly delivering benefits to key stakeholders such as port authorities, customs officers, shipping line representatives and logistics providers. In terms of limitations, the prototype is limited to basic functionalities and lacks advanced features required to meet operational and regulatory standards. Future improvements can focus on integrating AI for tasks such as predictive analytics and automated document verification, while technologies such as NFT-based schemas can enhance ownership verification and improve asset tracking.36 0Item Restricted Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Supply Chain Management: A Case Study of Toyota Motor Corporation(University of Gloucestershire, 2024-08) AlQuwaie, Thamer Adeeb; Plummer, David; Rasheed, Muhammad Babar; Zhang, ShujunThis study examines AI deployment in Toyota Motor Corporation's supply chain management. By analysing the literature and interviewing key workers from Toyota, the research illustrates how AI technologies enhance logistics, demand forecasting, inventory management, and procurement. AI-driven predictive analytics and automation improved decision-making accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost savings. The research notes low data quality, expensive initial costs, and staff unwillingness to change as important impediments. The research suggests continual training, robust data management rules, and gradual AI deployment to solve these issues. The research also emphasises the importance of human factors in AI integration, including open communication and worker engagement for smooth adjustments. The research found that high management and departmental collaboration are needed to use AI technology successfully. Future research should include cross-sector and cross-regional comparisons, longitudinal studies to track impacts, and more work on social and ethical concerns. Supply chain management becomes more difficult and demanding if the project is in a different area that is becoming international. Therefore, this paper addresses the optimisation of supply chain activities in the framework of international projects in Saudi Arabia in account of their emergence under the 2030 Vision. This study employs a mixed-methodology quantitative and qualitative approach using a snowball survey questionnaire with open-ended and close-ended questions to gather the difficulties, strategies, and supply chain resilience assessment. The survey questionnaire obtained responses from 103 participants. The findings revealed noteworthy common difficulties in the Saudi Arabian setting that exceeded other challenges. Furthermore, the findings highlighted typical strategies to get beyond these obstacles. Eventually, the resilience results revealed a flaw in Saudi Arabia's resilience farmwork knowledge. Therefore, the application of these research findings can be applied to the framework of international projects in Saudi Arabia to control supply chain operations effectively. Through interviews and questionnaires, the study unveils the intricate relationship between Vision 2030 and Nupco's supply chain, shedding light on both opportunities and challenges. The study highlights the transformative impact of Saudi Vision 2030 on Nupco's supply chain management. Interviews with Nupco stakeholders reveal a strong alignment with Vision 2030's localization strategy, fostering innovation, and enhancing supply chain efficiency. While challenges exist, Nupco's adaptability and commitment to change demonstrate its vital role in advancing Saudi Arabia's healthcare supply chain and broader socioeconomic goals. A REVIEW(Saudi Digital Library, 2023-11-30) Alharbi, Shaykhah; Marina, PapalexiIn this era of unprecedented digital data generation spanning the past two decades, the concept of Big Data (BD) has emerged as a powerful phenomenon. This paradigm shift extends to the healthcare sector, where a plethora of data originates from diverse sources, including electronic patient records and medical equipment. Despite the growing interest in applying big data analytics (BDA) to supply chain management (SCM) from both academia and industry, its exploration within the healthcare domain remains limited. Unlike its counterparts in business and manufacturing, the healthcare supply chain has yet to fully realize the potential of BDA, leading to performance disparities and the underutilization of best practices. In response, this review endeavors to delve into the existing literature concerning the application of big data in the healthcare supply chain, aiming to discern its pertinence. Through meticulous filtering, 56 primary studies were meticulously scrutinized and categorized from an initial pool of 5,626, in pursuit of addressing four key research inquiries. The findings underscore the transformative potential of big data within healthcare, with procurement, demand forecasting, inventory management, logistics, and quality assurance emerging as prominent applications. This potential is nurtured by a conducive environment shaped by various facilitating factors, although certain inhibitory elements are also evident. By offering a comprehensive analysis of the literature, this study not only highlights the focal points of ongoing research but also establishes a bridge between theoretical understanding and practical implementation. It serves as a foundation for future research endeavors, shedding light on pivotal areas and paving the way for a deeper comprehension of these domains in practice.23 0
